  • @berowne9 From what I know, the character is going insane in this scene. He's never been happy with his love life and can't get anything sorted out, plus he's been in show business his whole life so probably all he knows is how to entertain and overact. I always thought the way Mandi played this scene was dead on and that a lot of other actors' performances are almost too tame. This is a really emotional scene and Mandy is playing the emotion. Thanks for commenting, though, I appreciate it. :)

  • I'm a fan of his--perhaps of his acting even more than of his voice--but in this he does (as he often does) about 10% more than he needs to do, and the flop-sweat shows. A good director would pare some of this down--but, given Mandy's reputation, I'm not sure a good director could get between him and some of his more manic choices. More is not always more, as is clear by the screaming end of the number. See the relatively restrained Danny Burstein's rendition for comparison.

  • I have loved this since I was 13 years old. Beyond genius.

  • @Splurge24 I totally agree. Love him!

  • great

  • mandy is amazing end of!

  • absolutely brilliant performance. he is a genius!

  • Mandy, Sorry

  • I don't think he get the recognition he deserves, I have been a fan of Manny for years. He is so versatile and natural with his stage presents. He is to Broadway as Neil Peart is to drumming, effortless and unforgetable.
