Richard Edwards Pre News Feature 2012

The short program that TVM are doing before the news... featuring Richard Edwards.
Richard comes from a musical family. Inspired by his father Joe George, noted for the popular song Il-Kugin Giljan, Richard started his musical journey at a very young age together with his siblings Wayne and Michelle in a family group called The Mics. After their debut in the Malta Song For Europe in 2005 with the song It's Up to You, Richard decided to take a step away from home and move to the UK to further his musical knowledge and experience. While in the UK he auditioned for the TV program called X-Factor (2006) where he was shortlisted with the final eighty contestants amongst thousands of applicants after performing a capella Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me.

Back in Malta in 2009, Richard continued writing his own music. The Malta Eurovision 2010 saw him back in the semi-final with the song Change. But the real turning point for Richard came in the Malta Eurovision of 2011 where he was the runner up for merely 2 points with the song FinalIy.

Since the festival Richard's has been very busy participating on various Maltese television and radio shows. Under the wing of Jan Van Dijck, Richard is now preparing the launch for his next album to the Maltese and international music scene.

Tonight we get to meet Richard Edwards in his house where he lives together with his brothers Wayne and Daniel.

This year Richard will participate with the song Look at Me Now which speaks about successfully overcoming a struggle in life, whatever that may be. The song is written by Richard himself and composed by Jan Van Dijck.
