Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio co-owner Renaud Veluzat and his nephew Paul (son of Renaud's brother-partner Andre), spoke on the ranch in Newhall, California, with journalist Stephen K. Peeples on March 12, 2013. Topics included Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning "Django Unchained," filmed at Melody Ranch last year; possible annexation later in March by the city of Santa Clarita of the North Saugus area which includes two other movie ranches owned by the Veluzat family; some of the historic productions shot at Melody Ranch; the devastating 1962 fire that burned most of the Main Street buildings to the ground; former ranch owner Gene Autry; Renaud jamming with Nokie Edwards of The Ventures; and what the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival is like from their perspective.
