Art VanDamme plays Satin Doll with Tony Dannon in1997

Art is performing as a quartet with Tony Dannon (a great jazzman), in honor of his friend who just turned 60, in Detroit USA in 1997. Art VanDamme is credited with single-handedly diversifying the repertoire of the accordion at a time when its popularity was restricted to polkas and folk music. His career includes a 15 year stint at NBC Chicago, numerous LP recordings, and extensive nightclub work and concert appearances throughout the USA and Europe.

In my book, Art iwill always be considered as the finest jazz accordionist in the world. A great musician and and a true gentleman. I feel it was a great privilege to have met him. He will be missed greatly.

Actually, Tony Dannon is a bit better than Art Van Damme. But they are both two of the world's best accordionists.
