St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa was designated a Magnet nursing facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), an arm of the American Nurses Association, becoming the first and only hospital in Cedar Rapids, and just the sixth in Iowa to receive the Magnet award.

The prestigious designation means St. Lukes is recognized as providing the very best in nursing care. Magnet designation is awarded to hospitals that meet rigorous nationally and internationally recognized standards for nursing care and professional performance, and demonstrate the 14 Forces of Magnetism. Of the nearly 6,000 hospitals in the United States, less than five percent have achieved Magnet recognition.
