I was fortunate to see Eubie Blake on TV and what a treat it was. He was a gifted entertaininer even just talking.

I can tell you folk love rag time and MR. Eubie Blake but for me it's my 1st hearing these. I grew up in Texas near the small city of El paso. I have never heard this sound before and I LOVE IT!!!

words do not really reflect my great respect and awe for this performer. He is not only a technically fantastic pianist- his interpretations are superb- almost transcendental! Thanks for posting this!

As with all of Arpin's performances, his taste and musicianship rule the day. His interpretations will always set the mark for those of us who hope to present the works of past masters in the most vivid and enchanting fashion. Alas, we lost him too soon.
Thanks for posting this jewel.

First I knew Chevy Chase the actor. The next year, I learned it was a suburb in Maryland which I actually visited many times Years later, I learned it was an English ballad. And now I'm learning it was a song written by Eubie Blake really dedicated to the town in Maryland itself. For good comic measure, throw in a screen pic of Chevy Chase in "Christmas Vacation" at 1:24 in case we forgot the song title. Very funny!
