A booster seat is not a baby seat. That's the safety message that a Detroit-based rap group is trying to convey to kids between eight and ten years old. Studies show that many children in that age group, known as 'tweens' who live in urban areas don't often use a booster seat, which can help to save their lives. The booster seat raises them to the correct height in a car enabling the proper placement of a seat belt across the child's chest. Slum Village is attempting to reach that segment through music by letting 'tweens' know that using a booster seat is "cool." They've taken the safety message and put it in a hip hop song with the 4-Steps slogan, "sit, pull, cross, click!" Produced for General Motors by Medialink. Brought to you by SafetyTV Library. • I love this info... I still have my 7yr old in a booster and he's 4'7 now... but he'll be in it till it is outgrown.

  • Thanks for your post and good to know that you " Think Safety".

  • As a CPSTechnician, what I like about this most is that it's bigger kids in boosters -- hopefully this helps parents realize that younger children are still safest in a harness (according to weight/height limits) & don't go rushing their immature children into boosters before they can remain properly positioned for the entire length of every ride!

  • Even children up to 10 or 11 years old need boosters. Some kids are just too small for the regular seat belt. Some parents put thier 9 year olds in the front seat!! KEEP KIDS IN BOOSTERS! This video is great.

  • i dont have a lot of money but i saved up to buy my sons a car seat that 5-point harnesses until 60 pounds and then is a high back booster until 80 and a booster untill 100. very important to me that they are safe inside the car

  • @MorganandEedna booster seats aint save neither are air bags i stopped going in a booster seat when i was like 7 and i sat in the front seat when i was like 9 so booster seats aint shit they aint safe

  • Good for you! I know so many parents who put their kids in terrible danger, they just don't think it can happen to their kid.

  • my 6.5 year old is still harnessed in a radian 80 and an APEX 65.. today she was begging me to let her start riding in a booster with the regular belt.. I said no way, but her friends were saying I was unfair to make her ride in a baby seat still! I was raging mad! I told her maybe when she is 9 she can have a booster.

  • My 2nd grader is 8.5, 60lbs, and 4'3". He still sits in his backless Graco, but most of his friends don't. If a $20 booster may save his life, why not use it? Many states are thankfully updating their laws so that children up to age 8 and/or 4ft 9", must stay in booster seats.

  • i use a reagular seat belt when i was 3 but i was about 50lbs

  • he is 2 big 4 a booster set

  • Many adults do not even fit seatbelts correctly/safely -- they are designed with the average sized US man....
