First off, sorry about the poor video quality. This came from an old Betamax tape, recorded at the slow speed and not stored in the best condition over the years...

In this segment, John continues discussing the old court case the Pythons had against ABC, and then goes on to explain how Python was originally received when it first aired in Britain; how British TV sometimes seems more permissive than American TV; and how crying "I'm offended" is a form of censorship (with people running around trying to control everyone so that they don't get upset).

  • Can someone tell me what John Cleese says at 7:46, right after Cavett says "there are people on this earth(...) or they are sort of parody group?".

  • I've always thought he said, "Well many of them are in the Capitol," referring to certain backwards-thinking Congressmen.

  • Incredible!! Was this filmed in 1979 or 2009 - because everything Mr Cleese talks about, with regards people running round shouting about how offended they are, could be a comment on the here and now....

  • I love to watch John Cleese being funny and being interviewed. Aside from the other Pythons, he's my most favorite.
