Lester McCumbers was honored with the Mountaineer Heritage Fiddler Award for 2008 as part of WVU's Mountaineer Week Fiddle Contest. Here he plays "Liza Jane" as part of his set following the award presentation. He was cross tuned in G for his performance.

Yeah; he doesn't have to play fast to make it interesting and have a driving rhythm. Easier said than done though.

I love that he plays this slower than the breakneck speed everyone else seems to think it should go at. I love it!

Lester doesn't play the huge number of tunes that many fiddlers do, but he sure gets a lot out of every tune he plays.
