Luke Dodd, VFX Supervisor at BAFTA Award Winning VFX House Jellyfish shows us how NUKE was used in the BBC follow up documentary to 'Walking With Dinosaurs'.

Luke explains how NUKE's 3D environment was invaluable when creating set extensions in the pre-historic landscapes for the show. These were vital to the look and feel of this iconic BBC documentary series which has earned them a BAFTA.

Thanks to fxguide who filmed this demo on our booth at IBC.

  • Was that dust from Action Essentials?

  • Hello @MaikForte I asked Luke and I'm afraid they came from Jellyfish's library so he's not sure. Sorry!

  • did you use 3ds max at all in the process for creating 3d models?

  • Hello @DanielManahan. We spoke to Luke and here's his response: "All modeling, rigging and animation was done in soft. We started rendering using max and brazil but moved back to soft and Arnold after the first four sequences to get quicker results." Hope it helps.
