on the surface it looks like he's the loyal advisor/body guard. in reality there's a twist to their relationship you will find out in season 2, which makes the whole thing creepy and gross.

This Jorah is strangely sexy. In the book he is dark-haired and super hairy. Very "bear-like". He also comes off very likeable, almost like a father-figure to Danerys. I'm sure that will change next season though.

@omganotherun LOL yes! If I ever meet him, I would tell him the opposite and hope for the best :) These Fire and Ice books have but one problem, no one is happy for too long, too much unrequited love, and a lot of tragedy. Actually, you could almost tell the series is written by a guy hahah Love you George Martin, keep em coming

@krakistophales I wouldn't say the actress playing Brienne is exactly conventional "pretty," though. She's got kind of lopsided features...and I guess makeup and maybe a wig will take care of the rest

Perhaps the Ghost Grass will defeat the Others in the end. It has to be one of them eh! Seriously, bipeds vs plants, I'd bet on the latter for long term survival...

@xSanSanfanx I agree... to me, he actually starts becoming a much better person in later books... it was only early on that he was doing some bad stuff (some of which hasn't been revealed yet so i won't spoil)

@krakistophales Originally they were going to get Ian McNeice (he played Baron Harkonnen in the Dune TV movies on Sci-Fi) to play him, but he had scheduling problems. Personally I'd have gotten Tim Curry.

Then again, it's kind of nice they aren't going with the "Bad Guys usually are ugly" thing (though they already subverted that with Cersei and Littlefinger).
