  • nice video!! me and my friend both enjoy fishing for any type of fish so we usually catch these and try for some fluke with them and whatever is left we eat :). however, we usually just scale them, chop off the head and tail and gut them and just eat them like that, but we gotta try your method!

  • @AIOcinema Give it shot, I'm sure you'll like it!

  • Thank you very much for the fast reply. Is there a limit of size or quantity to take home per person?

  • @K4Lku For 2011 there's no minimum size for first 10 fish, then 12 inches total length for the next 5. The daily limit is 15 no more than 10 of which shall be less than 12" total length.

  • I've been fishing these for the past two months in bay park. Everyone told me that they are bunker fish and are used for bait. Ive been googling and youtubing this and the bunker fish does look like these snappers while snappers look red with a big head. Are these the same as bunker?? Thanks

  • @K4Lku They are not the same. Not even close! You can't catch bunker on a hook because they are filter feeders. And you can't eat bunker because they taste awful because of how oily they are. If you're catching these these fish on a hook, then you are catching snappers which are young bluefish. They put up a nice fight for a small fish and they are really good to eat. In other parks of the country snappers are different fish. On Long Island Snapper is short for Snapper Blue (as in Bluefish).

  • I dont bother with Filleting Snappers, they are way too small to even attempt Filleting them. It is also too time consuming to fillet a fish that small IMHO. I just scale them, cut the heads off and gut them and just bread them with the tails still on and once you fry them up you cna just eat the meat right off the bone, no need to dela with filleting them. Also your supposed to retrave the snapper poppers and POP the float so it make a splash, the sound will attract the fish to attack the lure

  • @FishOnFishing Not really. The blues are in the bay at different times of the year. We get big blues in the spring and snappers in the fall.

  • @omgflyingbanana I used to do the same thing when I was 12. Have fun. -Bill

  • @jawsflounderace The recipe works with most fish. Sea herring is oily, but the recipe should work.
