Ahhhh the way history should be taught ... If more teachers could bring history to life and as interesting as this ... Children would know so much more about it ... I hated history when I was in school and just now 40 some odd years later really finding it of great interest ... Thanks to History Teachers for this ... Hmmm you wouldn't happen to have an opening in class for an old young hearted man now would you .... :- )

I did my History Of Art degree on Leo. I considered handing it in, in an unfinished state and covered in half completed sketches of parachutes, bird's wings, Human arms and legs etc. . . As a Tribute. Leonardo da Vinci, a Genius who rarely finshed painting anything, before starting three new projects.

@Thexdar Yes, I was lucky. But you know, you're older now, like me - & hopefully wiser. There are libraries & books! Why, 6,000 yrs of history is your oyster! You can pick any topic you're interested in, & ask the librarian for something interesting to read. (Usually, the staff actually read the stuff they have!) Watch a B&H video on the topic, that gives you a synopsis - & then off you go on your own. Soon, B&H could be asking YOU questions! Libraries also have movies & CD's. For free!

@PierreaSweedieCat It does sound like you were lucky in your history teachers. My teacher was smart and knew History but just could not stir an interest in me to want to know more ... I can't blame it all on him, could have been I had girls on the brain at the time also.... :- ) Ahh Mr. Long is gone now, kinda wish I had listen to him more ...

@Thexdar Ah, poor Thexdar! I think all of us oldsters would want to be students of B&H! (Cause we know they know their stuff!) But I was luckier than you: In Phx, Az; I had Mr. Rickard, who was a genius on US & general World history. In Chelmsford Ont, I had Cool McCool, who was expert on ALL history. He also kept a working Guillotine on his desk... Many pieces of chalk met their fate there. He would have loved B&H's French Revolution and Napoleon! Sadly, I lost track of them over the years.
