The MiniMoog could thunder out bass lines of great power and depth. (Beyonce: "Deja Vu")

Synthesiser bass became inextricably linked with dance music, e.g. Donna Summer's "I Feel Love".

Demonstrates how to sequence a bass line, include "quantizing", "looping".
Drum'n'Bass (Shy FX and T Power "Shake Ur Body").

A Georgian English Psalm (Maurice Greene's "Lord let me know mine End") demonstrates a bass line which would also be at home today in Motown or Jazz.

Many thanks to Peter InglisGuitar for the superb video summaries... Cheers!

  • @GreenLightMe Also, they're just tools, that those sounds aren't done by a human and with 3 clicks doesn't mean they suck.

It's like saying using a car is cheat, photoshop is cheat, using email is cheat and we should return to 200 years ago.

  • @GreenLightMe genre doesn't mean bad, It's the same in all genres, there's good and bad songs.

  • Thanks for sharing this!

  • @GreenLightMe Obviously, if a person dislikes or doesn't understand a genre, it must be crap. Nothing to do with a persons taste. Having such a closed mind, I pity you.

  • bass is my heart

  • and...to top it off, look this old white guy making a dubsteb song in 3 minutes, shows you how inane, childish and unskilled you can be to make a dubstep/electronica track. Only he put in a little effort and put the notes togther himself before putting it in sequencer. Don't think Skrillex could even do that. bloody horrid genre.

  • they still haven't touched on metal, boy those metal heads our peeved. I pick up on his subtle disses to drum and bass hahaha classic

  • Bravo!

  • 1:45 the song i feel love is kinda similar to the old snes game plok
