Clodagh was the original...Followed by Clout (charted in SA) Petula Clark...then Donna McDaniel, Merrilee Rush, Helen Reddy and Louise Mandrell ( All charted in the USA) ...... 30 covers in Sweden and scores more wordwide...... I wrote and produced the original !

What a great video presentation to this song. Hopefully Collector's Choice will reissue Merrilee's 1977 United Artists album on CD. That label did such a great job reissuing her Bell album. By the way, Save Me was also recorded in french as Sauve Moi by Petula Clark. It is posted here on Youtube. Check it out.

Clodagh Rodgers' version is very , very good. She sounds a tiny bit like Merrilee Rush. Maybe Rodgers' version is the one that "megacosmicray" below might be looking for.
