  • Apparently these fish grow to 45cm and change to a grey colour when mature. I really wanted one but it would probably grow too big for the tank and hassle my other smaller fish. Don't really want it poisoning its tankmates either. Research it up first guys.

  • Would have loved one if they couldn't potentially poison my tank. Too big a risk for me. Lovely fish though.

  • i thought they were rare

  • mine is not wanting to eat :( i dono what to feed it...

  • omg that is the cutest fish ever lol!! I'm buying one tomorrow, I saw it at the fish store omg omg I can't wait

  • @Bowsersshell COOL!!! I observed one before at the aquarium, but seems that it looked a little clumsy. Maybe i should give it a fright so that it can push itself at full speed :)

  • @seuquin the boxfish can cover 2 meters a second and the design has been used in the design of a car

  • Interesting. If i remember correctly, some country's navy is researching on the design of a submarine by studying the boxfish. They wanna come out with something to model the shape of the boxfish (more comfortable chamber) but can also move through water with ease. But as far as i know, boxfishes are slow swimmers & not as aerodynamic like sharks, which has shape like a topedo (aerofoil shaped).

  • Be carefull!! When it grow up... It'll eat your shrimps.... and your tank is too small....

  • boxfish are adorable but tricky. you must feed them so that they do not gulp down air and if it dies it will release toxins that can completley destroy a tank's ecosystem and lead to a collapse. if you have the money though and are willing to take the risks these can make some of the most colorful and peaceful fish in the entire aquarium trade.
