It is just so amazing to witness a launch - particularly at night. Wow!
-
It took the sound a minute to reach them . . . I assume the launch was 12.7 miles away and still bright as the sun. Amazing!

Cool, thanks for sharing your video. ^^

Wow! From Titusville, it looked like the sun coming up! The rumbling was even powerful at that distance too!! We were on the causeway (6 miles) and it was impressive from there also. Great video!

You have a very exciting and original piece of footage there - it is very good at communicating the atmosphere - especially with the raw soundtrack - you really ought to lose the mushy music and chatty intro and exit - it might make sense for some stuff - but this clip deserves something more appropriate.

Thank you. If we were just uploading clips, I would agree. However, this specific piece is an episode in our 'Tales to Technomadia' series that depicts stories of our full time traveling adventures.

There are actually two different audio 'issues'
1) We were 12 miles from the launch pad - thus the rumble comes later.
2) The commentary is streamed from NASA TV over an iPhone, heard in the background. It's delayed by design.
We opted to not mute the sound to keep this as an authentic experience of what watching the launch was like from our perspective.

It isn't really by design, it's just that watch a webcast will always be 30-60 seconds behind reality.

'By design' we mean as in context of the audio in the video clip. Some folks have assumed it was a technical audio sync problem. We could have edited the commentary to match the launch, but we wanted our followers to be able to experience it more like we did - delayed audio commentary, excited nearby viewers and all :)
