Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada is a Bolivian politician and businessman who was twice elected President of Bolivia. He led economic reform in Bolivia that cut hyperinflation from an estimated 25,000% to a single digit in six weeks. More broadly, he is credited with engineering the restructuring
of the Bolivian state and dismantling the state-capitalist
model that had prevailed in the country since the 1952 Revolution.
