...told by the drunkest man in Kyoto.

Basically, the sun goddess Amaterasu hid herself in a cave (called the Ama-no-Iwato found in Ise, Mie prefecture) after her brother the god of storms Susanoo ticked her off. Since she's the goddess of the sun, the world was left without light. Because of Amaterasu's importance to the world (aka to bring out the sun) the other gods held a banquet and tried creating a number of things to get her to come out. Amaterasu finally came out when curiosity got the best of her while the goddess of dawn and revelry Ame-no-Uzume did a very promiscuous (but funny to the other gods) dance.

There are many different interpretations of this story (as well as a lot of people using the wonderful "cut and paste" function), so I may be wrong; if anyone wants to correct me, please post a comment and I will change the description of this clip.

Thanks for watching!
