I think this is my favorite Capercaillie song, if it is possible to choose a favorite (it isn't easy).

@Falscaidh or, I sometimes theorize, that if we could go back way further, say back to pre-christian times, such things could have a similar usage to the vocables in native american songs. just sounds, made to carry a meaning, or a particular rhythm or inflection of cadence. like the stereotypical "heyah, heyah ho"....just an idea I had... :)

@euroserf Haha that's funny! I'm from Cantabria and spent 5 months in Ireland last winter. I'm glad someone knows about the north of Spain - its green mountains, rainy and cloudy weather and vast nature. It's really tiring having to explain that there's another "Spain" apart from flamenco, toros and hot, dry summers!

I'm half Scot, and right now, I'm really getting misty-eyed. Let me tell you, southern California is NO substitute for the Highlands.

I cry when I hear this! I used to be embarrassed, bursting into tears at "Flowers of Scotland" or anything that reminds me of my Scottish heritage, but now I just say "I'm from a beautiful island, so I'm used to being close to water"! Cry with pride, such beautiful language, beautiful pictures, who wouldn't cry. We can be first, second or third generation Canadian, American, but we were a hundred generations Scots, and blood will out"!
