Hornbys latest reincarnation of the Drummond M7 tank loco is a lovely model, running sweetly and quitely. Here we see 30051 in black BR livery on a rake of ratio kit built coaches in Southern Railway livery on the Laura Gardens branch. I remember them when they were on empty stock workings between Claphan Junction and Waterloo from my train spotting days. Most of them lasted from the early part of the 20th century until about 1960.

  • If these are the new hornby Maunsell carraiges I must say I have never seen so much detail - I have seven of them, 5 in Maunsell green and two in SR(BR) Green!

  • They are not the Hornby Maunsell's but made up ratio kits and very nicely made, I bought them off Ebay a few months ago, I can tell you though the Hornby Maunsells are just as good I have a couple of them

    thanks for watching

  • I Agree, roll on the T9 should be before the end of the year hopefully

  • I've just bought a Southern rail era M7 class but I don't know what type and how many coaches it would have pulled, does any one here know? PS, I have a 1930s era railway.

  • nice, i love the M7's, got 2 of the new ones myself. Nice to see urs can tow coaches! mine can't! i can get 3 suburbans on behind them and it can't move em! although the longer M7 i got can just about manage but will still slip!

  • I'd love one of those M7's, but they're just so expensive! And for the sort of money that shops sell them at, I could have a lovely rebuilt Patriot instead...
