@Panaica I read in a book that Bon Jovi wrote all of their song on acoustic guitars...so they may have first wrote this song and it came out like this, that they decided to make a rock version. That may not be true for this song, but thats what I have heard

I think Bon Jovi wanted to make a more mellow versoin to get the message through better than the original. This is from their 1994 album Cross Road.
