jst got a copy of the book - seriously m-i-n-d-b-l-o-w-i-n-g! i can't believe a goan is the first in the world to transcribe the music, arrange it so beautifully, with the chords and translation. shows we can be world-beaters if we choose to !!
from what i've seen in the promos, the songbook's collection is greatest hits of the konkani diaspora - which includes konkani (goa and mangalore), portuguese, damanese, swahili, etc.
what's more interesting is that i've not seen any of this music in print before - so it's going to be a worldwide first!
im sure u'll enjoy the book more than most actually:-))

Prembhai....!
Semantics - potatoes and tomatoes??
The creators have indicated - hits from the Konkan diaspora - you have no problem with Portuguese, etc - just Malaika??
Re. diaspora - Goans have been in E. Africa for over 2 centuries, yet Malaika's barely half a century old - which came first, chicken or the egg??
Nobody wrote down Malaika's music for over a half century, as comprehensively as this - yet you have a semantic problem?
Come Prembhai - YOU do something better!

then the promo is wrong as malaika definitely did not originate from the konkani diaspora!
