  • You'll need an ancient Greek dictionary to understand what Pontus Euxeinos actually means. Essentially it's the Greek name for the body of water that we know as the Black Sea and yes it washes the shores of all the lands you mention. However, the cultural and linguistic zone that Greeks refer to as 'Pontian' is restricted to the north-east coast of Anatolia; the south-east shore of the Black Sea. Apart from the Greeks, the Laz and the local Turks also participated in the local dances/music.

  • Pontos word is from Pontius euxinus and is not just turkish is from allover the Black Sea (Greece, turkey,Bulgariaetc)
