@anav8tor It's funny, the only snakes that have ever been bitten me have been kingsnakes. and my favorites are my Black Pine snake and my Sonoran Gopher snake. :)

He already can smell the water he will drink when he gets ready. I feed frozed (warmed up) pinkys until able to eat fuzzies then live mice. As far as the size he will determin that also, if he cant get it down the will let it. Same applies if the mouse gets cold. Snakes are really easy to raise, keep the cage clean and DRY. After shedding make sure no shed if left on the snake, check the shed make sure the eves shed, if not take a wet cloth and rub eye gently till it comes off same with body

Snakes are prone to parasites, dont introduce outdoor wood, rocks, etc unless sprayed with lysol let set 24 hrs. I cannot stress enough tto keep the cage DRY. I handle my snakes for maybe 30 minutes prior to feeding, by handling him it warms him up and makes him active and ready to eat. Good luck wit your corn they are beautiful timid snakes feel free to contact me anytime at cannon449@charter.net

That's interesting. He still drinks water from the tap like that even though you keep water in his cage? (if you've kept snakes as long as you have, then I know you keep water in each cage.) I have two beautiful Pituophis; a 4.5ft Sonoran Gopher snake and a 6.5ft Black Pine snake, along with several other snakes. I've not had any Hots though. I think all Pine/Bull/Gopher snakes are very cool.

Haha yea he had water..I have wierd animals, my dog will break a hard boiled egg shell it and eat the inside and never eat a shell...I have a speckled king snake now found him when he was about 8 inches long last fall he is now about 20. He eats 2 fuzzies every week and sheds about every 6 weeks. He will drink water from his bowl while I hold him and also will eat out of my hand while I hold him, he really gets excited and once latched onto my pinky finger. I had to pry him off..
