I was bidding on that 8.5 on ebay too. It went cheap -- I should have went higher. Nice collection. Thanks for posting. I disagree with quality over quantity.

how much does it cost these days to have your comics graded by cgc, or is pgx cheaper?

@231hotthumbs It depends what you have. There are different tiers to select from. I usually go for the express tier which costs around $80 + shipping to and from. Books valued over $3000 have to be graded under the walk through tier which costs a small percentage of the books market value. The Batman 10 wound up costing somewhere around $170ish. Again, depends what u have and how fast do u need them returned. The more expensive the service, the quicker the turnaround time.

What is your position on having books certified by PGX rather than CGC?

I currently own 2 PGX books ( mickey mouse & donald duck oversized books which CGC can't encapsulate). I won't get into my personal specifics but I think CGC is more consistent with their grading and resto checks with the old stuff although I've had a few incidents with CGC. Expensive PGX graded books don't realize as much return as that company doesn't command the respect/consumer confidence CGC does. Perhaps PGX will someday close the gap but for now I prefer CGC.
