As many of you know Strongman Jesse Marunde left behind a legacy and one of his Famous Slogans that has greatly affected the Strongman Community was "SQUAT MORE"...and alot more, in fact 20 rep sets were his norm. In this video Wesley Inman attempted to do 500lbs on a BOX SQUAT which is a PARTIAL squat in honor of Jesse Marunde as a fundraiser to earn money for the website.. At a bodyweight of 200lbs, Wesley was able to hit 17 in his pursuit of 20 reps.

Strongman is fortunate enough that Jesse Marunde's website WWW.MARUNDE-MUSCLE.COM remains operational. It is the "Premier Strongman Site" in the entire world, run by Callie Marunde-Best. Please consider joining as a member of this site, and/or donating to keep the Jesse Marunde legacy going as well as the future of the sport of Strongman.

A special thanks to Derek Poundstone and Kristin Nelson Poundstone who are proud to promote the Squat More Legacy, Marunde-Muscle and the World of Strongman and its athletes in general...THANK YOU DEREK and KRISTIN -Wesley Inman-

  • i would imagine it would be safer pin squatting for high rep, regardless, nice performance.. sarge's 225 x 98 is still one of the most impressive things i've ever seen.

  • Was this at Energy Fitness?

  • @gunbolt1989 they are optional but i'd recommend atleast some protien possibly even a weight gainer as far as the weights u pretty much wanna go as heavy as possible just make sure u warm up plenty and stuff. i dont know anything compared to derek poundstone about strongman but i do know the basics

  • hi i know this isnt a comment but i have a question for derek. do you train every day or every other day and do you need to take supplements like protein shakes and other things or is that optional? im sorry for asking its just im training to become a strongman and am really confused about training i cant figure out wether to do really heavy weights (about 5-10 kg under my max weight) with low reps (5-10) or medium weights (15-20 kg under) with high reps (10-15). thank you in advance. :)
