This is how you cover a song. Completely change it. The shit they do on American Idol and X Factor is just karaoke. It takes no talent, just years of singing lessons. Taking a song and changing the genre and making it still sound as good or even better takes a shitload lot of talent. And this was just John at home on his piano, he never intended anyone to hear this, or indeed much of what is on YouTube.
