The Princeton University Georgian Choirs (made up of the women's choir, Dedebi and the men's Choir, Gaumarjos) presents our Spring concert, 2011. This is the final concert directed by the choir's founder, Vrinda Chidambaram. All of the singers are members of the Princeton University community: post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students, administrative staff, and local residents.
This humorous song from Svaneti has two parts. The first part is heavy and melodic and typical of Svan traditional singing. The second part, while maintaining the same harmonies, is lively and playul. It, like many songs from Svaneti, is sung antiphonally and often accompanied by a dance.
