How To Jailbreak & Unlock 3.0.1 iPhone 2G 3G 3GS Step by Step Tutorial

This is a step by step tutorial on how to update and
jailbreak/unlock your iPhone on 3.0.1 firmware. The firmware is almost the same as 3.0 cept for fixing up the sms vulnerability. There fore I will be using the same method as for the 3.0 jailbreak using redsn0w 0.8. You will first need to download these 2 files.

USE FIREFOX TO DOWNLOAD:
Download 3.0 NOT 3.0.1 and upload into redsn0w.
3.0 Firmware IPSW here: Choose your iPhone 2G,3G,3GS

If they ask for password its: bluroom

Redsn0w for Mac: http://thebigboss.org/hostedfiles/redsn0w-mac_0.8.zip
Redsn0w for PC: http://thebigboss.org/hostedfiles/redsn0w-win_0.8.zip

To unlock add "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" to sources in cydia. ultrasn0w is spelled with a 0 (zero)

STUCK at waiting for reboot? Unplug the wire and plug back in, thats it fixed =]

Here's what I learned. If you want to unlock iPhones I suggest I would say use softunlock. com

And for all of you out there wanting to jailbreak I cannot recommend enough: softjailbreak. com My favorite part is that they are free and work great!
