  • I'm currently reading Charles Murray's new book "Coming Apart: The State of White America, 1960–2010." Essentially, it's about how today's white upper-middle class has become more insulated from the rest of America than ever before, and why they unknowingly romanticize and condescend to the working class at the same time. If Murray had known about Steve Hofstetter, he would have made him Exhibit A.

  • @WilliamHudson87 You're right. Growing up in a poor family with an adopted black sister totally insulated me from black people and poor people.

    Keep reading, William. There's a lot more knowledge in the world than that one book.

  • @thehofstetter Pretty cowardly removing my last response. In the meantime I watched some of your comedy and I think you're very talented. I would go see both you and the Cable Guy. But I think the CG in person is probably more open minded, more tolerant of others, and less judgmental.

  • @WilliamHudson87 Its not removed, its just below the other comments since I didn't respond to it. Stop trying to pick a fight.

  • @thehofstetter Oh my bad

  • Comedy is just that, comedy. Larry is funny, you are funny, Jim Jefferies is funny.

    What comedy isn't, is intentionally being an asshole just to be an asshole, then you're no better than my turds. You're an ass, but you're a funny one.

  • @thehofstetter It's sad that you adopted the smarmy elitism of the new upper middle class without having had the fun of growing up in it. Keep playing small clubs and college campuses and telling yourself that you and your fans are somehow morally, intellectually, and culturally superior to the unwashed masses who enjoy LTCG's comedy. Ninety-nine percent of them will never hear of you anyway.

    "No matter how many times I pressed my "bright" button it still wouldn't work."

    *awkward silence*

    Popularity =/= Talent

  • LTCG is not my style, but that "dumb fucking redneck hick" I believe has made more money than any other comedian. He has obviously figured something out. Steve can spin it any way shape or form, but I look at success of a comedian, and right now LTCG>Steve Hofstetter. Keep doing clubs while Larry does Football Stadiums.
