I beat him with a level 10/11 party.
I took your advice and bought 15 of those Energy Bullets, and I had Mary spam them, while Rutee and Stan casted spells at him.
I posted the video of it today.

bah me i beated him lvl 15 using thing you buy and 5that shoot electricity on him (really usefull) and spamming him with stahn and red haired

BTW, you can only use Manual mode if a Technical Ring is equipped to that character.

It's a bit harder to do in this one, you need to get a Channeling (you'll get one before this point in the game) and equip it to the person you want to play as, have a controller in the slot they are in, and push select in battle for semi-auto or manual, then set Stahn to Auto.
You'll have to switch controllers everytime you enter/exit battle.

Leon yeah I killed him at level 20 he regreted fighting me but he put up a fight but i took him out afterwards
He's my favorate opponent to fight on it.
