My father comes from the southern Marche region of Italy, this type of music is still played there. They usually have a bagpipe, a type of recorder/flute and an organetto which is a small accordian. After I returned to the my father's town after my marriage, a troupe came and played nearly all night under our ancestral home where we were staying for a short vacation.

I usually listen to electronica..and this is easily 2nd on my list of favorite genres. I find it hard not to think of myself dancing to this. It's beautiful.

@leguatorre It doesn't exist a composer. Saltarello (or fem. saltarella) is peculiar of the central Italy. You can find something on wiki.
