i mean, finally i have this dvd movie from my friend in Netherlands...because in indonesia, this movie not for sale...

I saw the Film at the London Film Festival, and utterly fell in love with it, as it resonates a lot with my own professional interests (I'm a socio-cultural anthropologist and my current work focuses on Javanese ritual symbolism and practices). As soon as I saw the film I went to copy the above trailer from the rotterdam film festival website (cf. vid description for the website's address) and posted it here so this absolute gem of a film could get more exposure.

it was shown in indonesia not so long ago, but quite limited though. as far as i know, it was only played in blitz megaplex and one 21 cineplex in yogyakarta.

yes I heard that Yogya finally has a 21 Cineplex again, its about time! The people of Yogya waited for a long time without a decent cinema since the old one burned down years ago (I used to live there).
As for this film playing in Indonesia, I wouldn't be surprised if the showings are far and few between as the film contains a few scenes which may be considered shocking for the rather prudish Indonesian sensitivities... and it is very political
