MILES II - Während «Kind of Blue» einen unumstrittenen Spitzenplatz im Jazz-Kanon einnimmt, wird das Spätwerk von Miles Davis nach wie vor kontrovers beurteilt. Davis war kein Purist, sondern ein Innovator, der alle paar Jahre zu neuen Ufern aufbrach. So suchte er in seinen letzten Jahren die Zusammenarbeit mit dem bahnbrechenden Pop-Jazz-Produzenten und Bass-Koryphäe Marcus Miller. Mit «Tutu» trieben Davis und Miller die Elektrifizierung des Jazz in neue Gefilde voran. Wie Miles früher spielt Miller in seinem neusten Projekt «Tutu revisted» mit jungen Talenten, allen voran dem neuen Trompeten-Stern Christian Scott.

The first time I heard this song i listened to it 3 days straight. No lie. It was "in my clothes." I couldn't shake the melody. WOOOOOO, I get chills when I think about it. Miles was a musical genius.

I liked it too , I reckon MM should re-release a version of Human nature similar to when he and Miles did it Live in Paris once I loved that I think MM could do a groovey revamp version :-) cheers TT

Damn. Marcus should only do those kind of concerts, or play stuff from like when he used to play with Lenny White. This music is miles ahead from his current smooth jazz bullshit (pun intented).
