Fatima - The Miracle of the Sun and Gregorian Chant

Those in attendance had assembled to observe what the Portuguese secular newspapers had been ridiculing for months as the absurd claim of three shepherd children that a miracle was going to occur at high-noon in the Cova da Iria on October 13, 1917.

According to many witness statements, after a downfall of rain, the dark clouds broke and the sun appeared as an opaque, spinning disk in the sky. It was said to be significantly less bright than normal, and cast multicolored lights across the landscape, the shadows on the landscape, the people, and the surrounding clouds. The sun was then reported to have careened towards the earth in a zigzag pattern, frightening some of those present who thought it meant the end of the world. Some witnesses reported that their previously wet clothes became "suddenly and completely dry".

Estimates of the number of witnesses range from 30,000-40,000 by Avelino de Almeida, writing for the Portuguese newspaper O Século, to 100,000, estimated by Dr. Joseph Garrett, professor of natural sciences at the University of Coimbra, both of whom were present that day.

The miracle was attributed by believers to Our Lady of Fátima, an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to three young shepherd children in 1917, as having been predicted by the three children on 13 July, 19 August, and 13 September 1917. The children reported that the Lady had promised them that she would on 13 October reveal her identity to them and provide a miracle "so that all may believe".

According to these reports, the miracle of the sun lasted approximately ten minutes. The three children also reported seeing a panorama of visions, including those of Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and of Saint Joseph blessing the people.

FYI, this isn't Gregorian Chant. This is a kind of polyphony. Gregorian Chant is much simpler and conducive to prayer. Polyphony is magnificent for lifting the spirit and heart to Almighty God. As beautiful as this is, it isn't Gregorian. Thanks.

@Appalachian85 -The photographer didn’t photograph anything else because there was bugger all-else there to photograph except the people. I wonder what camera he used!

I hate the camera guy taking these photos. If I lived in those days and was lucky enough to have a camera, I would have probably spent less time photographing the people and more time photographing what they were looking at!

I guess they didn't have photography schools back then! But hey, common sense should've been enough....

@emilnow I knew a person who had origonal footage of the event; more specifically it showed the children praying insync, I was told they were praying in ancient Arimeic,as they asended to the site they would pray for awhile then droped to their knees upon jaged rocks their knees were busted open&bleeding but never showed any sign of pain ;they were in a complete trance. the dancing of the sun was childs play in comparison this footage exists I wonder why it hasn't been posted on youtube.

@SuperNicaChica No I haven't seen Exodus Decoded yet. Is that the documentary about experiments showing the Ark of the Covenant was a functioning capacitor?? To understand what was witnessed at Fatima, you'd need to read up on the Jeurgens/electric model of the Sun, the spiral nature of Birkeland currents (also called space tornados) and the glow discharge mode of plasma. Plenty of info at holoscience(dot)com and thunderbolts(dot)info. I'm off to watch Exodus Decoded. Cheers

@chanijoene What exactly does plasma physics have to do with Fatima? I know what plasma is. I would just like for you to expound on this. God is always working through natural and man made phenomena. It is up to us if we can see Him at work. Ever watch Exodus Decoded? It's interesting. Food for thought anyway.
