i read books on what a wonderful country this USED to be and i'm talking 30's and 40's and 50's then all of a sudden civil rights comes along and its been a steady downward spiral ever since. my hometown of detroit looked like a beautiful place to live in my grandparents era now i go there and i see burned up buildings, bums everywhere, and it stinks hmmmmmmmm. now i try to have an open mind but can someone please explain this to me.

Slavery created the mess and in their shame government tried to fix the results of it with bad policy. Then guys like Jackson and now Sharpton make millions decrying whitey while they push blacks deeper in to the abyss. Without poor, uneducated blacks, they have no power. That is why there is never a push for hard work and education but more for handouts and government assistance. That has always been a staple of liberal politics.
