Elvis recorded this popular Irish ditty ( written by Englishman Frederick Weatherly in 1910, to the tune "Londonderry Air ) at Graceland on February 5th, 1976 for release on the From Elvis Presley Boulevard album. more recently, the song has appeared on Walk A Mile In My Shoes, the CD reissue of Moody Blue and Elvis Inspirational.
A previous recording, made at home in Germany in 1959, saw release on 1984 album A Golden Celebration and FTD album In A Private Moment.
Elvis had been heard singing at least as far back as 1958, on set while shooting King Creole ( his character`s name was Danny ).
FTD live release Tucson `76 features Elvis performing the song.

I thank you for your video who is very pretty. Beautiful song with lyrics Elvis very moving. The presence of his mum in the video, he loved. I also believe that the death of his mum was very hard for him. Thank you.

Hi Annemaree hope all is well . Beautiful song Danny Boy no one could have sang it any better then ELVIS did. But then he never ever missed a song or sang one that wasen't right on que all the time.
