The legendary Battle between The Supremes vrs The Velvelettes took place at The Greystone Ballroom in 1963, while The 5 Songs The Velvelettes performed that night have finally been relesed the 5 Songs The Supremes performed still remain unreleased, this recording might have been from that night, or from a 1963 Motortown Revue

  • Wish we could hear a better recording of this version, it sounds like it would be amazing. ;)

  • @screenwitch Meet The supremes expanded edition from Hipposelect has this on it

  • Im gonna say this one more time, ITS NOT THE RECORD THATS SPINNING, ITS FROM A CD, the record is spinning because i had nothing to show with the CD thats playing

  • Yeah because this track was never released, its a cd i burned it on to, the actual LP spinning on the record player is Supremes At The Copa

  • How ignorant of you. Someone goes to the trouble of sharing a rare exclusive like this with us, and THIS is the thanks you have to give? JERK.

  • Despite the so-so audio quality,

I find it better than the original, as girl groups were very "in" at the time.

  • @BlogShag Correction, Diana sounds like a Chipmunk on the record. I hear Flo doing her thing in the background... Maybe i never listened to it in entirely cause Diana sounded like a chipmunk

  • @BlogShag You know this shit pails in comparison to Dionne's record...

  • @kenhamlett1 "Flo was a phenomenal singer" is a myth that was fueled by Mary Wilson and later by Dreamgirls.

  • Having seen all these live, The Velvelettes were the best. Matha Reeves struggled to hit the notes even then, and the Supremes raced through a medley as if they had a bus to catch

  • Thanks, wish I could have seen at least one Motortown Revue, damn!

  • @chrstianmom , Yes Dionne's version was better, but DraTS do it justice here.

  • @PhillySoulable LOL! What kind of drugs are you on? Go clear out your ears then come back and comment.

  • They sound incredible as usual, even though this is a bad recording, you can hear their wonderful sound shine through. A rare gem...too bad it's never been re-released or has it? They do this song justice.
