  • absolutely not - ok, G5 has a tendency to melt laptops if u try to stick one in, but they get about double the power per MHz, aka 2GHz G5 is roughly equal to 4GHz Intel

  • @Tordah26 You have to understand though, these are four SEPARATE CPUs. Quad cores are a far cry from quad CPUs.

  • @helix195 The G5 was outmatched by the Core 2 Duo, and again by the i7...it's not THAT powerful.

  • hi, i have an powermac g5 that keeps freezing at either the apple logo spinning gear screen, or the booting mac loading bar screen. then the fans turn into a tornado. what should i do? i reseated the ram, wiped the ram, and even tried a different hdd. please help! thanks!
