In early 1987, Oliver Magnum participated in a local "battle of the bands" contest along with 35 other acts (Gammacide, Talon, Hammerwitch, Rotting Corpse, etc.) and were among the 8 winning bands that got to get one of their songs on a compilation tape that was titled "Metal Cruelty". As a matter of fact, Oliver Magnum were planning to use that title for their debut album but they went for the "self-titled" solution instead. This song wasn't included in any of their subsequent releases. Feast your ears upon this can't-get-any-rarer US power metal gem!
This was an outstanding band.

Making Enid Proud! You guys ruled then, you rule now! Thanks for this! Of course, for those out there that didn't get to see O.M. live...well, in my weaker moments I almost pity you! \m/

We were not planning to use this as the title of our first album. We specifically wrote this song for this project. Monte Humphrey wrote the music, Howard Worthen wrote all the lyrics and I came up with the melody. My voice was in decline at this time and was not able to do all I wanted to do for this recording. This was the last song I recorded with OM until we recorded Drive By.......and there you have it! thanks for all of you who have downloaded! check out the new stuff I've posted!
