even though it didn't throw during your demonstration, its still an amazing work of craftsmanship. Awesome job man! I envy your skill.

i've always wanted to make one of those for the back yard big enough to throw bowling balls like maybe 6 or 7 foot tall, that would be sooooo cool. a table top one would be cool as well. would u sell just the plans for it i could get my own balsa wood or something. think about it i'll try to make one if so. if we were closer i'd say we could make a cpl up and have a mini battle. have u tried to wax the rope so theres not as much resintence (i cant spell sorry) or maybe more weight, i dont know

How you doing ??? nice job !!!!!!!!
I found a mini catapult that you built on metacafe, I watched on that video that you used a kind of substance to make wood look old, please tell me what kind of substance you applied on the catapult.

It is just a dirty grey/black wash of acrylic type paints.
To tell you the truth, usually I use the dirty water in the cup I wash my brushes in.

Just used a wash of dirty black.
Actually I use the dirty water in the cup I wash my paint brushes in. I find it works great for "aging" wood.

Really nicely made copy of the infamous trebuchet "designed" by Eugene Viollet le Duc, a 19th century French architect. The design contains features never seen on real trebs, but sure looks cool. If a full-sized one were to be fired at full power it would certainly break.

Thanks for the history. When I made this I could not find any pictures other than one small plate in a book. Searching this guy's name produced two schematic type pictures with great detail. Excellent! Now I need to build another.
