@hodgejr Ohhh gosh,,,,,,,,YES YES YES. ABSOLUTLY. the GO-480 IS THE BEST SOUNDING OF ALL ENGINE'S LIKE YOU SAY. Ive heard soo many Roll's, and radial's, they have thier place, and exhaust note. but the lycoming is by far the best sounding. It has a sound that's kinda like a 2.4 911S Porsche WITH SPORT PIPE'S AND HOT CAM'S. nice, but you can tell it's total quality, and has breeding. that nice sounding, low pitched raspy growl!!!!!!! Music to my ear's.
I totally agree...geared 480's with indie exhaust stacks feeding the augmenters is aviating music heaven. Early Commanders had a similar setup. As a kid when I heard this sound I couldn't tell which bird, T-Bone or 560-680 was coming until visual contact. Or a Queen Air.
I ENVY YOU!!!! : ) The GO-480 in my opinion is the BEST sounding engine of all (and that includes radials, merlins, etc etc). To see a nice one taking off do a search for Twin Bonanza KPSO, taken from the side of the runway. I get goosebumps whenever I hear a -480 equipped plane taking off...and man it's rare nowadays! Got any more vids?

My dad back in the 80's had one in Galveston. What great times we had in that plane, flying over the gulf of mexico at 50 feet was great.
