On to your question: No advantage really... basically you achieve the same result. Originally being a Logic User, I created subgroup's like this. However, plan to show off the group function in a future tutorial. Thank you for mentioning it.

Awesome vids. Really enjoying this series!

One thing I'm curious about is the way you chose to group the bass tracks. Normally, I would have chosen to just group the tracks (Cmd-G) and drop the compressor onto the group.

Is there an advantage to doing it one way vs. another, or is this just how you've done it using other DAWs?
