University of Toronto: Canadian Ivy Goes Gospel

After 6 distinguished years, the Honourable David R. Peterson's term as Chancellor of the University of Toronto will come to an end on June 30, 2012. Students from the Faculty of Music surprised him at his final Convocation ceremony with a flashmob tribute sung to the tune of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot". Chancellor Peterson has been a tireless volunteer, extraordinary ambassador, master of countless ceremonies, and a great champion for the University of Toronto and its 500,000 wonderful alumni around the world. He will be missed by the students, faculty, staff and alumni of the University of Toronto.

Aww, he teared up a bit! He says something personable to literally every single graduate that shakes his hand at the convocations, often a quick joke or asking you what you're going to do next :-) Congratulations to all the 2012 graduates!

I don't know HOW I happened across this video and I have NO idea who this chap is but I have to tell you that it made me cry real tears watching it!! He must have been a good man! I like that!!  Such a sweet tribute!! I hope a bunch of people love me enough to do this for ME one day!!
