The Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome in the Twin Cities collapsed under the weight of snow from a blizzard that hit the Twin Cities Saturday. The storm left from 17 to 22 inches of snow throughout Minneapolis-St Paul area. The roof of the dome that covers Mall of America Field just could not handle the weight.

The roof was already worn out, and the Metrodome people wanted to wait to replace it until the vikings were done using it, and they got quite unlucky, because they couldn't wait. Luckily it was at the end of the season. The roof is now being replaced fully with another air dome, hopefully to last until the vikings get a new stadium, this is assuming they actually will.
