I actually get some pretty good hard rock and metal tones out of mine, but that may be just because I use hard rock and metal guitars and playing style, not so-called "grunge."

I just recently aquired one of these. You can definitely get some "grunge" sounds out of it. There are enough different distortion tones you can get out of it that it took me hours and hours and hours of tweeking. All the knobs are extremely sensitive, sans the actually grunge knob which is, indeed, pretty much useless. I can play anything from Pink Floyd to Metallica to HORSE the band to heavily saturated blues leads with it. And mine was free. WINNING.

man it doesnt hear like this at all

For me. This is best cheap high gain distortion. But, It isn't for Grunge, It's for Metal Up Your Ass.

@MrTubefuzz you dont really notice it unless you play some higher notes

Thank you man, the great demo ! Nice sound

awesome riffs, thank you for the demo

If I were you I would either turn down the bass while using the MM or buy a Boss DS-1 or a Danelectro D1 both are realtivly cheap .It depends what type of punk you want to play. You easily can get a tone similar to Steve Jones with the DS-1.Im only suggesting ideas not telling you what to do.

I have a metal muff pedal and I want to buy this either, is it similar to it? I mean is worth buying digitech grunge or I can do my "job" with the pedal that I already have? (I play grunge and punk music mostly..)
I'd like to hear this with a Mustang.
