Music & performance by Seth Mitchell, lyrics Michael J. Petro

From the album "Pictures" (http://www.amazon.com/Pictures-Seth-Mitchell/dp/B00009KXH4)

There's always a vacancy
Where the cold Joe's blowin',
A sanctuary of sin.
You leave as you came,
Except for the knowin'
Of where you just been.

Intense population,
Each with their own walk.
Tenuous conversation
When you talk the talk.

A free and clear moon tonight,
A fence around a tree,
An incentive to do what's right,
Another casualty.
I sadly greet first light,
Knowing I will get out.
Here's where I should feel alright,
But I feel your eyes out loud!

Now somehow I gotta sleep,
Yet I'm tossin' and turnin';
I pull my flaps in.
I see the ghost hand-to-mouth,
Illegal cigarette,
And I turn over again.

The right concentration
Will kill any flower,
And sense deprivation
Keeps me in the tower.

A free and clear moon tonight,
A fence around a tree,
An incentive to do what's right,
Another casualty.
I sadly greet first light,
Knowing I will get out.
Here's where I should feel alright,
But I feel your eyes out loud!
