I feel like it may be easier if someone knew what is currently done to my car, and where to go from there. If you could help, that would be cool. Thanks!

Jafro, I couldn't find a way to PM you. I'm having a difficult time navigating through this new setup Youtube has. I was wondering if there's any way to contact you online? I just have some basic noob dsm questions. I've read a lot on dsmtuners, including the basic upgrade paths, etc. But I still would like to talk to someone who is knowledgeable on these cars. I'm having some problems with my car. Nothing I suspect is major, though. Also I'd like to know where to go as far as modifying.

@Jafromobile yes absolutely. the people in the community make it what it is today.. these engines aren't one of the most powerful platform 4 cylinders by themselves :D

@tscompusa It's this kind of discussion that makes my videos even remotely helpful. I keep reminding everyone in PM's that I'm not a certified mechanic, and I only know anything from experience and what info was passed on to me FROM THE COMMUNITY...
The DSM community has taught me more than I ever wanted to know about cars. I owe everything to guys like you who speak up and share what you know. There's more in the DSM crowd than anywhere else, so far as I have found. Thanks!

@Jafromobile no problem. you'll like the ASA a lot better. they have these things online also .. like live catalogs. go to google, put in part # go to images and you will see them all over the place. i still prefer to use the program on the pc though.

@tscompusa downloading it now... Since CAPS doesn't work on WIN 7 and later, and I have virtual machines for that on my i7 MBP... I'll give it a shot and let you know how that works out. THANKS FOR THE INFO!
I found mitsubishilinks. com. wow!
What part would you want to buy from the dealer that you can't get cheaper elsewhere?

@aleks138 Valve Stem Seals, engine gasket kits, front case (oil pump), stub shaft, oil filter housings, water pump, timing components, fasteners... want me to keep going? :P lol
There's many parts that are junk-out-of-the-box when it comes to aftermarket. Some (like the front case) are critical to your engine's survival. I'm able to order most OE parts for the same price as aftermarket replacements. When it comes to needing quality service parts, I rarely substitute.

@Jafromobile
Felpro sells a mean gasket kit for $90. Comes with every top end gasket you'll need.
As for oil pump- OEM Hyundai on ebay
stub shaft- make your own :p
OFH- 4g engines are plenty. Mighty max have the forward facing 6 bolt OFH.
water pump- GMB on ebay (it's a repackaged OEM one)
Timing belt- Gates.
Tensioners and pulleys- GMB (once again it's OEM without the stealership markup)
Headstuds- ARP
rest of bolts and nuts can be had at the junkyard. Best part is that they're OEM too :p

@aleks138 People will appreciate finding my car in a junkyard. But I never find 2g turbo AWD cars in the junkyard. Ever. I'd have to burn $20 worth of gas to save $20 on jackshaft carrier bearing bolts if there ever was one out there. So there's good reason to buy dealer parts on occasion.
I had problems with the Fel-Pro kit. The intake gasket didn't have sealant around the head-side, the valve stem seals were all the black ones, and the exhaust gasket was a lead composite gasket, not SS.
