An idea I had to help from losing your gear to large fish. This is a breakaway setup the gun does not stay attached to the gear when shot.

  • what are u shooting swordfish?!?!?!?!

  • @davieschelydra Tuna

  • have you had any success with this set up, a friend and i were think of something like this for our coral sea trip next year, what is to chute out of or did you make it your self

  • @1982toetoe I have not speared into anything big enough to cause it to deploy. Not yet anyway, I hope too.

  • There is a float ball on the back, and also the front of the chute bag is open to scoop water up to help deploy the chute. So the chute would deploy by itself if a big fish started running away with your gear. I have someone that does a lot of spearfishing here in Costa Rica and I am going to let him try it to see how it works.

  • Almost forgot. Remove the parachute holder with the set up I explained. Just use your parachute tucked on the torpedo float black band.

  • Hi Aceman,

You do not need the extra ball float to deploy that parachute ( drouge ).

What you can do is, before you pump the Riffe float to its fullest, use its black band to tuck in the parachute. You are using the normal 1 ATM Riffe float, at 30 feet of water, that float will become half size.........and the parachute will auto deploy. Change the ball float to a smaller float in order to orient the parachute only.

Use a 10 meter line to parachute, what u got now is too short.

    Good luck

  • i think this is a good idea but isnt it hard to pull through the water?

  • cool stuff made like it 5* :) \m/

  • Great idea mate , simple and clever!

  • very good fish don't have chance
